Braxton Burns, 12, entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2024 in the arms of his dad after an aggressive fight with nasal cancer. He was born in Greencastle, IN where his dad brought him home at just eight weeks old. His Aunt Kathy held him all the way home to Indianapolis. Silly Braxton puked on her the whole way home which we still get a kick out of today.

He lived in Chicago while his dad attended college. While he and his dad were in college together he grew fond to playing with empty water bottles and that stuck with him throughout his life. He also loved getting out in the snow and rolling all around in it. Later in life, Braxton discovered his passion for attending baseball games in South Bend and eating popcorn out of a helmet. He also really loved playing soccer with his niece and nephews.

Braxton was always one to comfort the kiddos and loved the attention and lovin. He always loved getting outside and chasing the squirrels and letting everyone know who ran the show. Braxton was a gentle dog who enjoyed being rewarded with chicken nuggets and french fries along with lots of pets and kisses. He was never one for fancy treats or silly dog toys, he enjoyed the simple things in life. Throughout his life he always made sure to give lots of kisses and was really his dad’s best friend.

He brought so much joy and happiness to everyone and his barks, kisses, rubs, and lovins will be missed dearly. Braxton will be cremated and will be brought back home where his legacy will live on forever. Although he will not be looking out the front window barking at everyone and everything passing by, his dad will find comfort in knowing he’s always near.

A very special thank you to the staff at City Way Animal Clinic- Fountain Square for taking such good care of Braxton especially in his final days. He was in such good hands with them.
